A brief biography of Harold Tausch, Guild Certified Feldenkrais PractitioneR

I attended the New York Feldenkrais Professional Training program from 1987 to 1991 and started a private practice in Toronto when I graduated. At various times, I have also had part-time practices in Hamilton and Sault Ste. Marie. Currently, my practice is primarily in Toronto and I spend a week in Sault Ste. Marie approximately every six or seven weeks.
I became interested in movement and the potential of the bodymind in my early twenties, beginning with the study of yoga and them moving on to modern dance and theatre. I found that eventually I would plateau in all of these fields and make no further improvement no matter how much effort I made. It was the discovery of Feldenkrais in my thirties that helped me to unravel the habits that were inhibiting my movement and to replace them with better organized and effective movement patterns.
Over the years I have taught workshops and classes all over Ontario as well as at the Omega Institute in New York and Dance New England Dance Camp. I have taken particular pleasure in teaching Feldenkrais for Equestrians Workshops in association with Cheryl Gibson of Cedar Lane Farm near Guelph, Ontario.
I continue to be fascinated by the movement possibilities of the human being and am currently involved in contact improvisation, free-style dancing, ninjutsu, squash, and cross-country skiing as well as being an amateur singer/songwriter.
